What is Old Orchard Beach Camp Meetings?
The Salvation Army Old Orchard Beach Camp Meetings are a series of annual religious gatherings held by The Salvation Army in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The events take place at the Seaside Pavilion and the Old Orchard Beach Pier and last several days. The main focus of the camp meetings and pier ministry is to provide a space for spiritual renewal and growth through worship services, Bible studies, prayer meetings, and other activities. The camp meetings and pier festival are also an opportunity for attendees to connect with others who share their faith and to build relationships that can last a lifetime and is open to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Fellowship Golf Tournament
This is a special time for many Salvationists and one aspect of the Camp Meetings is changing as the NNE Division, who previously hosted the Annual Golf Classic, has moved their golf event to another location and time.
- Tuesday, July 30th – Dunegrass Golf Club (65 Wild Dunes Way, Old Orchard Beach, Maine)
- Early Bird Registration: July 1 – $75 per person. $90 after July 1.
- 8:30am Shotgun/scramble format
- Includes 18 holes golf with cart and luncheon
- Prizes for Top 3 Groups, Longest Drive & Closest to the Pin
Kids Meetings
Children’s Meetings will be offered for the children (ages 6 months to 12 years) of parents attending the camp meetings. Check-in will begin 15 minutes prior to the start of meetings at the Seaside Pavilion.
Preschool children (ages 3-5) will be in their own space in the gym at the OOB Corps and will only be united with elementary aged children during the Bible Story time. Nursery care will be provided for children 6 months up to 2 years.
Meetings for all ages will run Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Join us Monday night for Family Fun Night at the Seaside Pavilion!
Chapel Bible Study
Commissioners Mark & Sharon Tillsley
Since retiring in the USA Eastern Territory, Mark has been serving as Senior Instructor, Curriculum Department, College for Officer Training and Territorial Theology and Christian Ethics Secretary for the Territorial Commander’s Office. Sharon is enjoying days with her grandson as well as blessing officers throughout the Territory with her continued encouragement. They are known for their sound biblical teaching and their desire to live out a strong message of hope that represents the optimistic nature of our theological heritage.
Beach Bible Study
Captains Joel & Kathleen Ashcraft
Joel and Kathleen began dating when they were just 16-year-old high school sweethearts and were married shortly after graduating college. When they’re not working, they can be found spending time with their three incredible children – Matthew (13), Evelyn (10), and Audrey (6). Before they served as officers in The Salvation Army, Joel worked in banking for M&T Bank, and Kathleen worked in property management for The Salvation Army. They both hold Master’s Degrees in Business Administration from Asbury University.
Their deepest desire is to see everyone they meet come to know the fullness of life available through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Musical Guest
Randy Bonifield
A piano-playing singer/songwriter and film composer from Kansas City, Randy Bonifield is the youngest of five children born to Salvation Army officer parents. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from North Park University as well as a Master’s in Worship Studies (M.W.S.) from the Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies.
Over the last decade, Randy has released five albums (including Forty4, The Beauty of Weakness, and Songs of Christmas), scored three feature films – State of Grace (2023), The Land (2019) and The Tree (2017) – and co-produces and scores On Carlson Drive, a podcast of stories and conversations featuring Wendy Bonifield. While these projects represent the breadth of his work (or artistic wanderlust, one might say), Randy has devoted most of his career to the world of sacred artistry and liturgy, serving as a pastor of congregational worship since 2003 in the southern part of Kansas City.
Randy and Wendy (who met at Salvation Army summer camp at the age of fourteen) are the proud parents of three adult daughters (and one son-in-law), and are deeply devoted to their roles as doting grandparents.
