Commander Evangeline Booth in Connecticut, 1924
by Rob Jeffery
In May of 1924, Commander Evangeline Booth took an automobile tour of Connecticut, stopping in various towns all over the Constitution State. Her father, William Booth, went on auto tours throughout Britain in the last decade of his life, and it seems that Evangeline was keen to try the idea in America. Here she is posing with a group of children from Chester, Conn. Accompanying her was Colonel William McIntyre and the New England Staff Band.
