Mirian

Thanksgiving would never be the same. Mirian and her family had just returned home after spending the holiday in New Jersey when her husband suffered a massive heart attack. In the blink of an eye he was gone, and Mirian was left alone to care for her kids, with a negative balance in her bank account. “I had two children, no job, and no money,” Mirian says. “You can imagine my life at that point.” In that dark hour, Mirian didn’t know where to turn. She knew she needed help, but who would intervene to shoulder some of her heavy burden? The answer to that question came in the form of a poster she saw in Midtown West about dance lessons for kids at The Salvation Army.
