Worship Arts Convocation 2019 – Registration Deadline Extended
Worship Arts Information – Registration Deadline Extended until Friday February 8th
Artists and Musicians, join us for the Territorial Worship Arts Convocation! Gather with fellow leaders and participants in the arts and contemporary music ministry as we look at the many ways we can use our art forms to share the gospel and love of God.
Who: The Convocation is designed for those who are currently leaders or participants in the music and arts ministries in their corps and division (ages 18 & up). We will focus on artistic expressions such as contemporary worship team, dance, drama, visual arts, audio/video, and prayer.
What: Join in worship for our united sessions as we hear from those who have forged a path for the arts in ministry. Receive training in the specialized workshops offered. Get inspired by seeing different ways the arts can be used to share the love of God. Performances include “Mark My Word” by Hunter Barnes and a TAM Original Musical. You won’t want to miss it!
When: March 1-3, 2019
Where: Ladore Lodge and Conference Center, PARegister
While this brand new musical is being workshopped, there are two opportunities for the public to be a part of its development. The first preview will be held exclusively for delegates of the 2019 Candidates Seminar on Saturday, February 2nd. The second (and final) preview will be held exclusively for delegates of the Worship Arts Convocation at Camp Ladore on Saturday, March 2nd . Previews are opportunities for the writer, composer and director to get the show up in front of an audience. These sneak peeks are an inside look at the collaborative, intricate creative process of crafting an original musical. The creative team will assess the show as it is performed live asking themselves questions like:
- How are the jokes landing?
- Is that scene too long?
- Is that transition clear?
- Where did we lose the audience’s attention?
- What could make the story clearer?
Register today for the Worship Arts Convocation to be one of the select few to catch a glimpse of how a musical is created. This preview will take place on Saturday, March 2nd at 4:30pm, followed by a Q&A with the director, writer, composer and actors.
