Want to know more? Megan Pentland attended The Glory Shop and shares about her experience-
My life was completely changed being at ‘The Glory Shop’, I experienced God in a whole new way, it allowed me to be free in my faith and worship in new and creative ways. I was taught to not be afraid of who God made me to be and to use my talents as a form of worship and a way of showing Jesus’ love to others. It was a year of hard work, growth and learning more about myself and about the Word of God. I gained new friendships and was part of a second family where I felt accepted, safe and valued. It was a rollercoaster year, with new disciplines and a packed daily routine, but it was worth every minute. I had amazing opportunities to minister to different walks of life, to study the Word of God in detail as well as share in a community of believers and worship together. Come expecting to be used by God, expect to work hard, expect to be challenged and stretched spiritually and be willing to open yourself up to God and expect that he will do amazing things with you!
Coming home was a hard change, a bit of culture shock and a rollercoaster of emotions; but God was there every step of the way and provided me opportunities to continue ministering and growing from my time in NYC. I am now training to be a primary school (elementary) teacher, while also being heavily involved in amateur dramatics and teaching for Belfast school of performing arts. God has given me the opportunity to work in my own division within the Salvation Army by leading the divisional drama team which has been used for events and services around the division- it’s an extreme melt challenging but exciting opportunity. But I would not have the skills or confidence to do it if it weren’t for everything that I learned at the glory shop and the strength that I receive from God daily.
