Candidates’ Seminar: Saved to Serve – Registration

Candidates’ Seminar is for individuals to discover ministry opportunities within The Salvation Army and to explore the possibilities of officership.  The weekend is a time for delegates to worship together with the Cadets at the College for Officer Training (CFOT) and with other believers and to listen to God’s voice and His direction for your life.  The theme is “Saved to Serve” taken from 2 Timothy 1:8-9: “So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…” (NIV).

The seminar begins on Friday evening (February 5th) with an exciting night of worship led by the Cadets from the College for Officer Training and the ministry of our special guests Lt. Colonels Eddie and Kathy Hobgood from the North and South Carolina Division of the Salvation Army.   Saturday (February 6th) will be filled with exploration through site visits for the Discovery Track.  The Exploring Track will offer seminars on what life is like as an officer.  Some topics will include the Officer’s Family Life, Officer Expectations, Officers’ Pastoral Ministry, etc.  Candidates in the Accepting Track will experience a day at the Training College with a Bible Class, a Doctrine Class and time for questions and answers about college life at CFOT among other topics.  There will be time for interaction with the Cadets and meeting new friends.  Saturday evening and Sunday morning will consist of united worship with our Territorial Leaders Commissioners Barry C. and E. Sue Swanson as our guests
