What’s your vision for your place of ministry?
As Salvationists of the USA Eastern Territory, we commit to transforming communities in the power of Jesus Christ one life at a time.
WHO SHOULD BE INVOLVED?
Everyone! To accomplish the Lord’s plan will require the collaboration and participation of Soldiers, Officers, Employees, Stakeholders, and even communities across the Territory. Our desire is to develop a plan that supports and strengthens frontline ministry, its leaders and soldiers. As you read through each of the goals, please consider how you personally can own a part of the 20/20 Vision.
WHEN DOES IT BEGIN?
The Vision Plan will begin for Program year 2017/2018 and is designed to provide long term perspective through the year 2020. Planning should not be a one-time event. Your 20/20 Vision Plan will become a living document that will help guide your teams for the next several years. It will be updated annually, but revisited frequently. As you progress through the year, do not be afraid to update your plan as needed.
There are three priorities which are essential to fulfill the mission: People, Programs and Provisions. The Lord provides us with valuable provisions to accomplish His work. He has given us a means of varying programs to reach the masses. And the Lord has blessed the Army with people to fulfill His work, while continuing to bring thousands of people our way each day.
The Lord has an important path in front of us. “20/20” has been chosen as a theme for the journey ahead. The theme 20/20 is intended to provide clarity of focus for our Ministries and provide a long term perspective through the year 2020.
How can we most effectively focus our efforts to advance the 20/20 Vision? It will require each officer, soldier and friend of the Army to work together to ascertain the areas in individual ministry units and communities where mission is critical. The 20/20 Vision Plan allows each place of ministry to select their own goals which will build mission. It provides tools to take a look at where you are now, assess how you are doing in each mission area and then formulate a plan to move forward in your community. Allowing all Salvationist and friends of the Army to speak into the vision for community brings unity and provides everyone a chance for all to share in God’s work in their community.
We look forward to seeing what new vision, clear focus and exciting opportunities 20/20 Vision brings to your place of ministry. Most importantly, we are believing that God is going to do amazing work through His people in the coming days.
