Territorial Leaders Call to Prayer
We greet you in the name of our Lord!
As we embark on a new year of ministry in the USA Eastern Territory, we would like to invite each of you to join with us in prayer as we seek God’s face for this territory in the days ahead. Lorraine and I have been impacted by the Psalmist’s prayer recorded in chapter 27: “Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.” These words have spoken to us and become our pray for vision. We earlier shared with the Territory regarding what God has laid on our own hearts. You can find that Vision casting on saconnects.org/vision2017. We now seek His guidance as the vision is implemented.
The members of the Territorial Cabinet will be meeting together on January 29-31 in order to prayerfully ask for God’s leading, His plan and His purpose in discerning the necessary and effective steps that should be taken in the days and years ahead.
Please be in prayer specifically for the vision that was presented a few months ago, focusing especially on future plans regarding areas of ministry such as:
- Candidate recruitment
- Increased ministry to seniors
- Cross-cultural expansion
- Growth in soldiership, both numerically and spiritually
- Increased financial support for frontline ministries
- Enhanced linkage of our Adult Rehabilitation programs with Corps ministry
- Intentional follow-up of those who come through our doors
- Energetic implementation of The Whole World Mobilizing international initiative
- Stronger funding for our Pathway of Hope family ministry
- Stronger emphasis on stewardship and self-denial
All this with a view towards on-going accountability, as we endeavor to ‘say what we do’ and ‘do what we say.’
We ask you to commit to pray especially on Sunday, January 29 as we seek His face together. Ask Him what he is asking you to do or be in the coming year…and beyond.
If you would like, feel free to share what God has laid on your heart, by writing privately to USETerritorialCommander@use.salvationarmy.org.
To paraphrase the Prophet Isaiah,
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on US,
because the Lord has anointed us – to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent US to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
May we each ‘seek His face’ as we strive to be true to this calling.
God bless you and thank you for all that you are doing to expand the Kingdom!
