SLD Summer Reading List

Hey friends and fellow companions,

My kids came home last week with their annual “Summer Reading Lists.” This prompted our family to put together baskets for the kids with some of these books to get them through the next few class-less months.

With summer in full swing, many of us are finding a different rhythm kicking in. Perhaps schedules have changed, or kids are out of school, or evenings look different. Perhaps sports seasons have ended, weekends have opened up, or vacations are on the horizon. We thought we’d give you weekly installments of some quality spiritual formation reading. You might be looking for something a little different to add to the fiction mix.

For others, maybe nothing has changed at all. The demands of work and life have not let up or given a breath. The voices still come from all directions. In some of those cases, things may have actually gotten more crowded and more difficult for various reasons. For those, self “soul-care” is even more important now than it was before. Perhaps one of these titles might meet you in the chaotic place that you are.

Whomever you are and whatever life is handing you this summer, we hope you’ll check out the SLD Summer Reading List from time to time. Let’s see what God has to say to you about your own transformational journey this season.
