Many Other Things
Jesus did many other things (wonders) as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
John 21:25 NIV
I know something about not having enough room for books. Books have occupied my home since I married. To be married to Major Young Sung Kim (Territorial Ambassador for Holiness) meant being married to books. I have books in our bedroom, in our basement and in our living room. I have books in bathrooms, in the garage and in the storage. And yes, there is a separate study for my dear one where tall cases of books occupy every wall available. If you were to open closets and cabinets in our house, yep you will find a book there too. I know something about not having enough room for books. I also know that as many books we may have are never adequate enough for a man who is always learning and passionately believes there is constantly more knowledge to be gained.
What captured me most about verse 25 was the statement, “Jesus did many other things” also could be interpreted as “Jesus did many other wonders” referring to those that were not written down or are unknown to us.
This concluding text in the gospel of John serves as a final reminder that our knowledge of Jesus, no matter how well it bears witness, is still partial. We do not know everything that Jesus did during his three and one-half years of ministry on this earth. Although we may know him trulyand as much as we desire to know Him, we can never know him thoroughly. There is far more to know about Jesus than could ever be written down, or even known.

It has been a little over 30 years since I came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. From what has been witnessed and declared to others by word of my mouth or have written, I realize that many other wonders have gone unnoticed. The wonders that Jesus did even in my own life and just in 2018 are like a fog settled low on the ground. I have been walking above it where they have covered the green grass fields of meadow vibrant with poppies, lavender and baby’s breath. Perhaps, I have been walking just at the eye level and have missed the wonders of God that could fill the earth. It is my prayer that we will notice the details of his many wonders below and above. That our mission is not only noticed within the subject and programs provided at our eye level, but in our DNA, our gained lessons from our history, in our resilience, courage and endurance to live out the truth of the gospel as written letters that tell of His many wonder and fill the world.
