TAM Conservatory 2017

The Conservatory features instruction by working professionals and provides young people with intensive training to encourage; spiritual development, artistic excellence, leadership in arts ministries, and innovative ways of communicating the Gospel. In addition to their chosen major, students also will participate in technique and master classes, a spiritual formation small group and have the opportunity to view and participate in several high caliber productions.

Acceptance to the Conservatory is granted following application and audition video submission and after approval is received from the Corps Officer and the Divisional leadership.

APPLICATION & AUDITION DEADLINE has passed. You will be notified by May 30th as to whether you have been accepted.

Eligibility:

Freshmen entering high school – age 25 may apply for admission

Conditions:

  • Must be recommended by DYS, DMD and Corps Officer.
  • Fulfill audition requirement by YouTube upload
  • Student enrollment will be limited.
  • Fee: $180

There are eight major tracks being offered at the Conservatory. Everyone must indicate a first and second choice.

NEW! VISUAL ARTS (click here)
In this major track, NEW in 2016, you will receive technical instruction in the visual arts. You will also explore and discover ways your art can be incorporated into your spiritual experience and in ministry. Experience necessary-not for beginners. Maximum number of students: 10
NEW! COSTUMING (click here)
This is designed for students who want to gain a basic understanding of the principles of theatrical design and the study of costume design. Instruction in basic costume construction, provide tools for students to help costume the pieces for the TAM Finale performances.
CHOREODRAMA (click here)
Music with movement to portray a message; a blend of drama, mime and choreographed movement. Not just for trained dancers.
DRAMA (click here)
Traditional sketch/monologue work.
DANCE (click here)
For dancers interested in improving their technique and exploring new forms of dance as worship and ministry. Beginner to advanced tracks available.
WORSHIP TEAM (click here)
In this track you will cultivate your skills in contemporary worship leading, playing in a worship band and other aspects of planning/participating in worship.
SOUND ENGINEERING/AUDIO PRODUCTION (click here)
Learn basics of amplifying musicians and running a sound board.
VIDEO PRODUCTION (click here)
In this major track, you will work with the instructor to create a resource that all participants will take back with them to their corps/divisions and share. You will have the opportunity to explore ways that video can share the gospel and how you can be a creative collaborator in this process, from filming to editing you will get a true sense of what it takes to create a resource like this. Maximum number of students: 10.

New! For those students who have previously attended TAM Conservatory and demonstrated advanced ability in their track. You will receive one-on-one mentorship as well as more advanced training in your chosen field of study. This track will be by invitation only. See your divisional representative.

Application & Audition Process

Step 1: Agree to  Behavioral Covenant and complete online application

Step 2: Record Audition video (required for all applicants)

Your video should include the following:

  • Your name, corps/church & division
  • Experience in desired major
  • Why do you want to come to TAM?
  • Find desired major above for specific audition video instructions

Step 3: Upload to YouTube.com as unlisted

Step 4: Copy and Submit your Youtube link to the TAM Database.
