Candidates’ Seminar Registration 2015
Candidates’ Seminar: February 6-8, 2015
Candidates’ Seminar is for individuals to discover ministry opportunities within The Salvation Army and to explore the possibilities of officership. The weekend is a time for delegates to worship together with the Cadets at the College for Officer Training (CFOT) and with other believers and to listen to God’s voice and His direction for your life. The theme is “Impact 150” taken from Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good News to the poor” (NIV).
The seminar begins on Friday evening (February 6th) with a trip into the city experiencing the excitement of Salvationists on fire for God through praise and worship at the Centennial Memorial Temple with the Christian contemporary artist “The Afters.” Saturday (February 7th) will be filed with exploration through site visits for the Discovery Track. The Exploring Track will offer seminars on what life is like as an officer. Some topics will include the Officer’s Family Life, Officer Expectations, Officers’ Pastoral Ministry, etc. Candidates in the Accepting Track will experience a Bible Class, a Doctrine Class and time for questions and answers about college life at CFOT among other topics. There will be time for interaction and meeting new friends. Saturday evening and Sunday morning will consist of united worship with our Territorial Leaders Commissioners Barry C. and E. Sue Swanson as our guests.
