Youth Spotlight: the NEOSA Jamboree!
NEOSA held it’s first ever Divisional Jamboree at Camp NEOSA. It was an amazing experience for everyone in attendance. We set-up our tents and campsites and prepared our own meals over the camp fire. We conquered our fears on a night hike and learned about our natural night vision. We even learned how to communicate with nocturnal owls! The next day, everyone got to try their skills on an adventure course, at archery, with air rifles (the older kids), and fire-building. We all ended the day filled with pride as we conquered a mile hike around the NEOSA Peninsula were we learned about marking trails and surviving in the wild by making our very own hiking kits. Everyone who attended the Jamboree earned a special “Jamboree” Emblem to add to their sashes. Anyone skeptical about the Jamboree left excited for the next one. We are already planning for next NEOSA Jamboree that will be even bigger and better!!
