Army On Its Toes Masterclass – “How To Choreograph” Class Review

Dancers warming upHow To Choreograph

Class Review

The Salvation Army’s Eastern Territory had its final Army On Its Toes Masterclass of the season. Held this weekend (3/19) at the Times Square Corps under the leadership of Kathryn Higgins, a small group of local dancers united to brainstorm and workshop ideas for creating choreography for corps dancers.  The dancers pushed through an extensive warm up, collaborated to create a piece together, brainstormed and shared concerns about their corps dance program.  They tiptoed away from the two-hour intensive with a set of practical choreographic tools to assist their creative process.

One dancer remarked,

“I now feel much more comfortable with the thought of approaching choreography.”

Masterclasses will start up again in the fall, so stay tuned for the latest information.

Soon to come – guest instructors from around the Territory!
